Park "Springs" to Life on 70 Degree Afternoon

Today's 70-degree temperature left no doubt that we've turned a corner in the march toward spring. For the first time in months, winter coats were banished, shirtsleeves rolled up, and newspapers unfurled everywhere. Nearly every table was occupied as Bryant Park resumed its place as Midtown's hottest lunch destination. Here are some photos of today's first glorious spring afternoon.

Midtown's hottest brown-bag lunch destination was hopping with activity.
Patience, the NYPL's southern lion, suns himself while keeping an eye on the Fifth Avenue Terrace.

Activity sprung up at our amenities. Prepared ping pong (top) and petanque (bottom) players had their own equipment on hand for impromptu matches. As in previous years, amenities will open for the season on April 1. Stay tuned to the blog to hear about exciting changes at our activity areas.

Every seat in the park was taken, even the steps around William Cullen Bryant's feet!
