Opening October 21: Bank of America Winter Village

October 1 was the final day to enjoy the lawn. If you've visited the park since then, you'll notice we've wasted no time in starting the park's conversion to the Bank of America Winter Village. It's a complex operation, but the conversion will be completed in less than three weeks with an opening date of October 21.

We could not be more excited for the return of the Bank of America Winter Village.
Why the early open? To give you more time to skate on New York City's only free ice skating rink! You'll also be able to enjoy the Holiday Shops for longer, and this year we've added kids activities for Halloween (stay tuned for details).

What a difference just a couple of days make!

The rink installation occurs among summer horticulture, ensuring a seamless transition between seasons.

That's no Tonka truck! This backhoe is doing the tough work of removing the lawn.

At this point, the lawn's sod and irrigation system have been removed to make way for the grading work and other preparations that occur before the rink, skate deck, Celsius, and the skating pavilion are installed.

In the meantime, you'll notice that the modular Holiday Shop structures will be assembled in the park. There are over 125 vendors in this year's Holiday Shop lineup, with returning favorites and exciting new vendors.
