Works From the Art Cart

Over the past two months, the Art Cart has served as hub for visual art in the park. With supplies partially provided by Materials for the Arts, we've seen some impressive expressions of creativity from Art Cart patrons, who range from art students to kids on summer break to office workers in the area. You don't have to be Monet to enjoy the Art Cart!

Take a look below at some of our favorite Art Cart creations, from illustrations to collages to portraits. Maybe you'll be inspired to make your own masterpiece!

This artist clearly had formal training.

This collage incorporates crayon, index cards, and a Japanese stamp.

This 5th Avenue-inspired collage includes columns reminiscent of the New York Public Library's facade, and the Zara store opposite the park.

This illustration captures the New York Public Library's architectural detail.

One Art Cart patron drew a whole series of characters.

This paperclip posed just long enough for a portrait.
