12:30pm: HSBC Sustainability: We Are What We Eat, After All
Paul Greenberg, ocean life expert and best-selling author of Four Fish and American Catch: The Fight for our Local Seafood talks with Karl Weber, founder and president of Karl Weber Literary and author of Food, Inc.: A Participant Guide: How Industrial Food is Making Us Sicker, Fatter, and Poorer--and What You Can Do. 

7pm: Word For Word Poetry in partnership with Sibling Rivalry Press
Saeed Jones, Rickey Laurentiis, Darryl Alejandro Holnes, Wendy Chin-Tanner, Valerie Wetlauder, and Cheryl Boyce-Taylor read original works. Produced in partnership with Sibling Rivalry Press.

12:30pm: Word for Word Author presents Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (AKA Jay and Silent Bob), Jay & Silent Bob's Blueprints for Destroying Everything
[UPDATE: Due to illness, Jason Mewes will not attend the event. Kevin Smith will still discuss the new release.]
The dynamic twosome from Clerks makes a rare appearance in honor of their new book, an illustrated collection on how to wreak havoc wherever you go.

Kevin Smith will pre-sign books prior to the event that will be sold on-site, day-of. Jason Mewes will sign books following the event and will be happy to take photos with people who purchase the book. Please note: Only books will be signed at this event - no memorabilia.

The first person to say "Jay and Silent Bob" to the Reading Room Coordinator at the event will receive a free copy of the book.

7pm: Word for Word Non-Fiction presents Jonathan W. White, Emancipation, the Union Army, and the Reelection of Abraham Lincoln
Jonathan W. White, author, leads the discussion. Produced in partnership with New-York Historical Society.

7pm: Word for Word Writers presents Fiction Writing
Pen your own story, poem, or screenplay, at writers workshops guaranteed to improve and perfect. Pre-registration required. Facilitated by Miranda McLeod.

12pm: Word for Word Kids presents The Very Hungry Band
Lou Gallo and Jean Rohe from The Very Hungry Band perform music, stories, and more music with singers who make New York proud.

12:30pm: Reel Talks, The Empty Glass
Lively and entertaining commentary on Marilyn Monroe's many loves. With resident film expert Scott Adlerberg and author Jim Baker.
