Take a Musical Journey with Accordions Around the World

Accordions Around the World, which generated lots of buzz last year, is back this summer. For 13 weeks, the park will fill with the sounds of squeezeboxes playing genres that span the globe, from France to Colombia, Balkans to Jazz, Cajun to Klezmer, and more.

From 5-6pm each Tuesday evening, six accordionists will be stationed around the park like a musical buffet--take a spin around the park and sample different styles. From 6-7:30pm each week, a different band featuring accordionists will take over and ignite the park with global rhythms. These photos show some of our favorite moments from last year's series, and we can't wait for Accordions Around the World to return! Produced in cooperation with Ariana's List.

Members of the American Accordionists' Association, which celebrated its 75th Anniversary in new York last summer, played Sinatra's "New York, New York" in unison. Over 100 accordionists participated in this buzzworthy event.

An accordionist plays in the French style.

Two is better than one: An accordion band with two accordions jams on the Upper Terrace, accompanied by an upright bass and a guitar.
