Summer Preview: It's All Happening on 34th Street

You may not be aware that we here at Bryant Park manage public space in other parts of the city. Our sister district, the 34th Street Partnership, covers the area between Park and 10th Avenues and 31st and 35th Streets.

We're bringing our Bryant Park touch to the 34th Street Partnership, with a slate of new and returning programs that will please our fans to the south. From dance to fitness to food, we've got something every day of the week! All classes are free and open to the public; no registration is required. For specific dates and times for each event, click on the event title.

Mondays and Tuesdays: Dance34
The DanceSport classes you remember from years past are back with a zippy new name. Dance34 offers the Salsa, Zumba, and Swing classes you remember. Get off your chair and dance!

Zumba-goers enjoy their workout with DanceSport last summer.

Wednesdays: Capoeira34
This fitness class, led by Professor Tiba of Capoeira Luanda, is like one you've never exeperienced before. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines dance, martial arts, and acrobatics accompanied by live drumming.

Professor Tiba's students demonstrate their moves.

Thursdays: The Warrior with Jodi DeCrenza
Multidimensional fitness professional Jodi DeCrenza leads a full-body workout using the body's natural resistance to build lean muscle, stability, and flexibility. Every third Thursday of the month is a special 90-minute yoga class; mats are provided.

The Warrior class will get you working hard and seeing results.

Fridays: Broadway French Market
Ok, we cheated a little--the Broadway French Market is actually Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Returning for its second year, the market will bring fresh produce, baked goods, and artisan crafts to Broadway between 35th and 36th Streets.

Enjoy seasonal produce and more at the Broadway French Market.

Broadway Bites will return to Greeley Square, starting June 3, from 11am to 9pm daily. Follow @34thStNYC on Twitter for updates on vendors.

Summer 2014 will be our busiest season yet on in the 34th Street area. You can see it really is all happening at 34th Street!
