Horticulture Update: Spring Colors Suddenly Appear

After looking gray for the weeks since Winter Village load-out, the park is due for a dose of color. First came this weekend's lawn roll-out, followed by this week's horticulture installations. These plant buds in the park prove that, despite this week's cold temperatures, spring is fast approaching.
Approximately 1200 pots of blue pansies will find a home in planters and beds around the park.

The 200 pots of pink pansies stand out against vibrant green leaves.

Daffodils are just a week away from blooming, weather-depending.

Even our rhododendrons, left over from the Winter Village display, are budding.

The orange queen tulips on the 42nd Street side of the park, near the library, are sprouting quickly.

Leaf buds cling to the London Plane limbs; expect them to arrive by the end of April.

What horticulture element are you looking forward to most? Tell us in the comments.

  1. please put the bulbs up for grabs at the end of the season as you did a couple of years ago, don't know if you did it last year. I loved it!
