From the Archives: Fashion in the Park

In this post, archivist Anne Kumer shares some park history. She also writes NYC Circa, a history blog about New York City, its buildings, and public spaces.
Fashion week may be over, but it's always fun to take a look back in time. Here's a little gem from the Bryant Park archives -- a catalog advertisement for Macy's shot in Bryant Park in the early 1990s. What better backdrop than the Josephine Shaw Lowell Memorial Fountain for a fashion shoot?

In case you haven't heard, the Cosby Sweater is back in style, and tweed has always been in style, at least for me.

It's never too early to start prepping for next year's Ugly Sweater Party.
