Outdoor Ice Rinks of the World

Northern cities of the world know how to create world class ice skating rinks. We often look to their examples for inspiration or comparisons to Citi Pond. Though we cannot create cooler NYC climates, or source natural bodies of water for the rink in Bryant Park, we find the examples to be illuminating. In Ottawa, residents can commute to work on the frozen Rideau Canal. In Montreal, the city skates on a basin that is used for paddle boats in the summer. We've put together a small collection of photos from some of our favorite rinks on our Pinterest board. We'd also welcome your suggestions from some of your favorites, the world over.
