Meet the Winter Village All-Stars: Julian's Story

Meet our Winter Village All Stars, young New Yorkers who have been honored by Bank of America Winter Village for giving back to their communities. Each All Star was nominated by an adult in their life and 10 finalists were chosen. Today we highlight one of our noteworthy young All Stars!

Julian Ramos, one of our youngest All Stars, is a seven-year old from Washington Heights who has a real passion for his community and has impressed those around him by always being the first to ask “How can I help?” He has volunteered at events, distributed flyers for a new playground, and truly demonstrates a real sense of giving.
Winter Village All-Star Julian.
1. What is your favorite wintertime activity?
I love snowball fights especially when they are with my dad.

2. What is your favorite wintertime snack?
Hot chocolate with marshmallows, the big kind of marshmallows.

3. Describe your community service activity in three sentences.
I like to help whenever I see help is needed. Sometimes that means just cleaning up after my friends or after a school event and sometimes that means marching with a group of people to protest something that we would like to change in our community.  My favorite service activity so far has been asking people in my community to vote for a playground for my school and community since we don't have one.  It's my favorite one so far because we won and we will have a brand new playground next year!

4. Why do you enjoy your community service?
I like doing community service because I enjoy helping people and it's fun! Everyone is happier at the end of the day, it feels good to help.

5. What would your superpower be?
My super power would be the ability to do everything because there is so much I want to do.

6. Pick 3 words that describe you.
Helpful, well-behaved, and baseball player.

Thank you for your service, Julian!
