The Norway Spruce comes to us from the Dr. Lawrence Forgacs family from Orangeburg, New York. The 64-foot tree, weighing in at 8,000 pounds, traveled to the park by truck on Saturday. During the installation process, the bottom of the tree was trimmed so that it stands about 55 feet tall.
Over the next several days, the branches will be allowed to settle. The boughs will be decorated with over 3,000 ornaments and 30,000 lights.
Don't forget to join us for the Tree Lighting, scheduled this year for December 1. Expect all the razzle-dazzle that you've seen in previous years, with some really exciting updates. We're working through the details and will share right here on the blog after everything is confirmed!
You'll have until January 10 to see the tree in person.
