7 Best Activities for Seniors in Bryant Park

Bryant Park hold tons of free events perfectly suited for the older among us. From practicing the healing art of Tai Chi to looking for some of our feathered friends, the park is packed with senior-friendly activities from sunrise to sunset.

Bryant Park Games & Chess
Take a seat in our Games Area to challenge some friends to chess and a variety of board games. Or, if you're in the mood for a specific game, come to our Game Socials to meet new opponents of all ages and experience levels.
Yoga
Our free yoga classes attract all ages, from infants with their moms and on up! Presented by Athleta, who provides mats, and with teachers from YogaWorks, these classes will keep you centered, flexible, and challenged.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is said to be good for the body, the mind, and the soul. What more could you want? Join the Tai Chi Chuan Center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:30am through September to learn the traditional healing art. All experience levels are welcome.

Knitting
Like to knit? Or maybe you would like to learn how? Either way, join us at 1:30pm on Tuesdays on the Upper Terrace - yarn and needles are provided! Each square that is knitted is added to a larger blanket that will be given to charity when finished.
Birding tours
Bryant Park has all types of feathered friends flying about. Join us in the fall for Birding Tours, in partnership with New York City Audubon. Sightings could include warblers, tanagers, vireos, thrushes, even an American Woodcock! You can also follow our bird sightings virtually through our blog posts on the subject.
Reading Room
The Bryant Park Reading Room is always bustling with new authors, beloved poets, acclaimed historians, and more. Join us in the outdoor venue for a variety of interesting readings and Q&As and get to know your favorite authors - or meet some new ones! See our calender for the full Reading Room schedule.

Bryant Park Shakespeare
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings in August, join us for Love's Labor's Lost presented by Boomerang Theater Company. Bring a blanket and sit on the lawn or relax in one of our bistro chairs - there's no better place to enjoy some Shakespeare then in Bryant Park.
