Celebrate the Fourth with Us!

Bryant Park is your one-stop shop for laid-back activities on the Fourth. After all, you want enough energy to stay up and enjoy the fireworks!

Listen to Jazz Piano
Jazz, a blending of African and European music sensibilities, is a uniquely American genre. Pianist Junior Mance, a renowned jazz musician inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame, has played with jazz greats Dizzy Gillespie, Dinah Washington, and Lester Young. Enjoy his tunes from 12:30 to 2:30 on the Upper Terrace.

Junior Mance plays last year on the Upper Terrace.

Watch Dance Performances
As an addendum to our Bryant Park Presents Modern Dance series, the Booking Dance Festival brings eight dance companies from across the country together on one stage. True to the USA's history as a melting pot, The Booking Dance Festival is a spinoff of Scotland's Edinburgh Fringe Festival and will feature a special performance from a dance company all the way from the Caribbean island of Martinique. Experience the magic of dance from 2 - 4pm on the Bryant Park Stage.

Cool Down with a Scoop
According to the International Dairy Foods Association, the first official account of ice cream in the New World is a letter from a guest of the Governor of Maryland, written in 1744. You could say that ice cream is older than our country! We don't have ice cream per se, but you can enjoy frozen yogurt at the 'wichcraft kiosk at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue, and gelato from the Talenti kiosk (with 30% less fat than regular ice cream!) on the 40th Street side of the park. Either way, it will help you beat the heat!

Relax at the Southwest Porch
What's more American than enjoying a freshly grilled burger on the Fourth of July? Hunker down with your burger, sip a beer (all of the Southwest Porch's beers are brewed in the USA), and cheer on teams playing in the World Cup Quarterfinals games at 12 noon and 4pm.

Grilling on the Fourth of July is a must!
And don't forget, we'll have our daily amenities up and running for the Fourth as well. Stop by and enjoy our Games Area, Putting Green and Kubb, Reading Room, Ping Pong, Petanque, Le Carrousel, and Art Cart.
