Reading Room Cliffs Notes: Week of June 9

Reading Room Cliffs Notes is the essential guide to what's going on in the Reading Room for the upcoming week. Flashback of the Week: 10% Happier with Dan Harris 
On Tuesday, Dan Harris spoke to Carol Graham and revealed that meditating for just five minutes a day can make someone up to 10% happier during the HSBC Sustainaibility program. 

Foreshadowing for the Week of June 9

12:30pm: BookClub

Book Club discussion on The Odyssey by Homer. Facilitated by Barry B. Powell, The Odyssey (new Oxford University Press Translation). Stop by and pick up a free advanced copy of your book club choice while supply lasts.     
7pm: Word For Word Poetry in partnership with Letras Latinas
David Tomas Martinez, Carmen Calatayud, Pablo Miguel Martinez, and Barbara Brinson Curiel read original works. 
Andy Ross and his crew of NY's funniest and best storytellers bring it uptown to a special performance sure to make you lol. Warning: This is not G-rated!

The first person to say "Real Characters" to the Reading Room Coordinator at the event will win a free copy of the book. 

12:30pm: Word for Word Poetry presents CavanKerry Press

Teresa Carson, Dawn Potter, and January O'Neill read original works as an homage to the 50th Anniversary of the publication of Lunch Poems by Frank O'Hara. 

12pm: Word for Word Kids presents Erin Lee and the Up Past Bedtime Band

Erin Lee and the Up Past Bedtime Band with songs that typify being a kid - from losing your lunchbox to having a loose tooth.
