World-Class Pianists Take Residency in Bryant Park

Bryant Park is great for its big events (Film Fest, Broadway in Bryant Park, and Bryant Park Yoga) and its smaller touches alike. One of our very best small-scale features is the Piano in Bryant Park series, produced in partnership with Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians, Sam Ash Music Stores, and the Jazz Center of New York.

Each week, from May 12 through October 10, a new pianist will take residence in the park to serenade your lunch. The pianists' styles run the gamut, from ragtime and jazz to boogie-woogie and stride piano. Many of our very favorite pianists from past years are returning, with some new performers to keep things fresh. The pianists are inductees in the Jazz Hall of Fame, studied with the likes of Thelonius Monk, wrote theme music for television shows, collaborated with piano greats, and written, performed, and recorded countless works of their own. This talented group will brighten any trip to the park.

Frank Owens, a returning pianist from previous years, takes residency on September 1--his birthday!
