Park Activities Return April 1 with Some Exciting Changes

Beloved Bryant Park activities will reopen on April 1. We're not April foolin' around!

1) Games Area
This year, we're stocked with more sets of popular games and an expanded selection. Better yet, special hours for selected types of games will make sure you have a worthy opponent, even if you come alone.

Play during a lazy weekend and meet new friends.
Game Socials begin in May and will include:

Early Bird
Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am to 12pm

Scrabble
Mondays, 5pm to 7pm

Board Games
Tuesdays, 12pm to 3pm
Thursdays, 5pm to 7pm

Party Games
Fridays, 5pm to 7pm

Kids Games
Saturdays and Sundays, 2pm to 4pm

2) Chess & Backgammon
Our chess experts return on May 1; tournaments will start later in the season.

3) The Reading Room
A refreshed selection of books will mingle with classics, and of course magazines and newspapers. As is Reading Room tradition, programming will kick off on Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 24.

Author Philippe Petit tied the crowd into knots with a rope demonstration last summer.
4) More Games: The Green, Kubb, and Petanque
After hibernating this winter, the games on the western edge of the park return with plans for tournaments in the works. The ping pong area will open slightly later in the month as maintenance work finishes.

Play a round of kubb during your lunch break.
