Kick Back and Relax at Celsius Happy Hour

We love lunch at Celsius, but we might like happy hour at Celsius even more. There is nothing like kicking back after a long day of work and enjoying good beverages with good company. Whether updating classic drinks and bar bites or creating something completely new, Celsius hits the mark. Did we mention that the view is unbeatable?

The second floor of Celsius offers excellent views of the Rink and the New York skyline--including the Empire State Building--beyond the rink.

The drinks were absolutely gorgeous and brightened up the cloudy winter skies. Whether a take on a classic cocktail or a new creation altogether, each drink was masterfully crafted. From left to right: the Polar Bear Cosmo, a twist on the classic Cosmo, offered tangy cranberry notes offset by sweet lychee. Next, the Honey Park featured Jim Beam Honey with warming with notes of vanilla, cloves, and spice. The Snowjito, a rework of the classic mojito, cleverly substituted rum with citrusy Absolut Mandarin and fresh-squeezed lemon and grapefruit juices. Finally, the Gin Solstice stole the show, combining gin with exotic flavors like muddled blackberries and elderflower liquer. The drinks were spirit-forward, so we made sure to order some appetizers to accompany the cocktails.
We ordered three appetizers. The Mini Parka Dogs, in the foreground, were "dressed up" pigs in a blanket, served on a bed of arugula with a delicious honey mustard dressing on the side. Next time we go to Celsius, ordering the Mini Parka Dogs is non-negotiable.
Next came the Crispy Calamari. These bite-sized rings were cooked to perfection and served with a sweet chili sauce that made the flavor of the calamari pop.
For the last appetizer, we ordered something a little healthier: the Mediterranean Platter. From left to right, it came with smoky baba ganoush, a delicious salad of tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, and feta (feta so light and creamy that it changed the feta detractor in our group's mind about the cheese!), and homemade hummus. Served with warm pita, this elegant platter could be a satisfying meal in itself.
The people watching was the cherry on top. Being able to observe the rink, full of families teaching their youngest members to skate, young lovers hand-in-hand, and groups of friends enjoying each other's company, put everyone in a good mood.

Next time we go to Celsius for happy hour, we will try out the outdoor ground floor lounge area, which features modern couches and heat lamps. But we'll have to hurry, because Celsius closes on March 2 along with the Rink.
