Shop the Season: Artsy Modern

Nancy discovers all of the wonderfully distinctive gifts at Artsy Modern at the Holiday Shops at Bank of America Winter Village

I’ve accepted the fact that I will forever be a last minute shopper. That’s why its 5 days before Christmas and I’m scrambling around looking for gifts for what seems to be an endless Christmas list. The trouble for me isn’t the time to go shopping, but trying to think of an original personalized gift for each person.

I just got back from vacationing in London with my sister, and since that trip, I’ve kind of been obsessed with everything British. Their artists and designers are incredibly fresh and creative, which is why I love that Artsy Modern brings products from a variety European designers to New York City. With a great assortment of home goods, accessories, and stationary, I easily crossed a few names off my shopping list.

Sometimes, the card is even better than the present itself. These illustrator holiday cards have such a charming quality to them with a handmade feel to them. The artwork also comes in the form of cute gift tags.

For my girls, there are so many great home d├ęcor present options. Coasters with the phrase “Drinks are on me”, fun throw pillows, or this jewelry tree would be great additions to any apartment.

For my best friend, who loves to bake for days, they have the prettiest colorful aprons in bright Finnish prints. The design also looks great as printed scarves, which is probably the best go-to holiday gift.

For my sister with her head always in a book, I love these modern bookends designed by Goodwin + Goodwin, made in England.

I have more than enough tote bags than I will ever use, but THIS will be the one I vow to tote around the city in. “My Book Club only reads wine labels.” Of course it was made in the UK. It’s brilliant.

Bonus: The money earned goes directly back to the designers, so it’s a great feeling to know you are supporting their creativity.
