Saving money is always a good instinct, especially after the dust of holiday shopping settles down and the credit card bill is due. But don't worry, you can cut back and still have fun. Bryant Park is proud to offer hundreds of programs every year, and they are all free. We've shown you how to save time and money at the Bank of America Winter Village ice rink. In just a few months, you'll enjoy the return of world-class performances with Broadway in Bryant Park, classic and critically-acclaimed films at HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival, the cutting-edge of jazz and classical-contemporary music with New Music in Bryant Park, and many other free and fun events.
With the arrival of the new year, we realize we want to live to see the next. Luckily, Bryant Park is here to help. Burn calories by skating a couple laps at lunch. When the lawn replaces the rink, enjoy the benefits of stretching, centering, and strength as you practice yoga in the open-air. Our ping-pong tables are available year-round: bring your own balls and paddle, and sweat off those extra pounds! For some, get healthy includes quitting smoking. Our park is smoke-free, so you won't be tempted to light up when you visit!

We spend a lot of money to live in the city, so it is important to take advantage of the excellent things that we pay to be so close to. Bryant Park is one of the gems of NYC, offering an oasis in the middle of Manhattan and stunning skyline views. As mentioned above, we bring the arts scene to you, and some of the best people-watching anywhere in the world. If you've ever thought to yourself, "I should spend more time in Bryant Park," we agree!
Learn Something New
One way to keep your mind sharp and your life interesting is to constantly seek learning opportunities. Overcome your fear of ice skating with lessons at the Bank of America Winter Village. Juggle rubber chickens with our Bryant Park Jugglers. In the summer, learn to knit with BP Knitting, explore the joys of movement with Bryant Park Moves with Limon Dance, or speak a new language (French, Spanish, Italian, or Japanese). Two of the more unusual lessons we have are fly fishing and fencing. The Reading Room boasts an impressive roster of speakers, from historians to authors to film critics, who lecture on their areas of expertise.

We all have a list of books that we know we should read, but never quite got around to. Bryant Park makes it easy to cross items off your reading list with the Bryant Park Reading Room. The Reading Room boasts an impressive collection of classics, fiction, and non-fiction, and even has magazines and newspapers for lighter reads. Until the Reading Room reopens in the spring, the New York Public Library main branch on the east side of the park is our go-to source for reading material. Check out a good book and curl up by the fire pit at Southwest Porch for an uniquely Bryant Park reading experience!
Spend More Time With Loved Ones
Our children's programming includes a French-inspired carousel, interactive games and storytelling, and magic shows, fun for the whole family. Bring a picnic and make a day of it. In fact, all of the activities we've suggested above are even better when enjoyed with family or friends. After all, isn't a fall during ice skating made better by a friendly hand to help you back to your feet? Make memories this year at Bryant Park--a resolution you'll certainly be glad you kept.
