I’m the type who turns to the Holiday Shops at Bank of America Winter Village for a sweet treat when that kale salad just isn’t doing the trick. In my book, candies and sweets have an important place in this world – right there alongside late night television reruns and sangria drink specials.
Wafels & Dinges is always satisfying when you need a sugar fix. Their sweet and savory wafels deliver - quite literally - layers-upon-layers of goodness. My favorite order is a custom concoction, including a Brussels Wafel, spekuloos spread, bananas, whipped cream, and Belgian chocolate fudge drizzle. Wafels & Dinges serves generous portions, so this is an especially good spot if you are looking to share a treat with a friend.
If good ol’ homecooking is more your thing, stop by Strudels & Pies by Hans for your sweet treat. Today they had both pumpkin and apple personal-sized pies for sale. The apple was sweet (but not overdone), with just a touch of cinnamon and clove, and a light flaky crust. I brought the petite pie back to my desk for a mid-day snack, but I would have rather eaten it when it was fresh and warm, and while I was still in the cozy Winter Village setting.

Crepe Cafe
And last but certainly not least, I suggest making your way to the Crepe Café, just steps away from Strudels & Pies by Hans. The combinations here are endless, with peanut butter, Nutella, almond butter, marshmallow, honey grahams, strawberry, brown sugar and so much more available as toppings. Being a true minimalist at heart, I usually opt for the Condensed Milk & Butter Crepe - a simple doughy creation infused with rich condensed milk. The crepes are served in a thin triangular case, so they’re easy to eat on the go, when your search for the perfect sweet treat has made you late for your next appointment.
