Shop the Season: Hanukkah

This year's "Thanksgivukkah" will no doubt leave many in the lurch with the holiday's early arrival. This year, a rare Leap Year in the Jewish calendar adds an extra month to help sync the Jewish calendar with the Gregorian calendar. As a result, Hanukkah falls at one of the earliest dates ever, and we bet many people will be scrambling for gifts. Lucky for you, the Holiday Shops at Bank of America Winter Village have you covered.

Celebrate the Festival of Lights with the beautiful handmade lamps at Grand Bazaar. These stunning beacons can be wired to hang or free-stand on a table. With a rainbow of colors, variety of sizes, and prices ranging from $25 to $3000, here's another shop that truly has something for everyone.

For those who go all out on decorating, you can pop into one of the many ornament stores in the park. Many of the offerings lean to the secular. Santa's Workshop has this little menorah ornament, as well as themed treasures for every interest. Bagels, cookies, NYC and sports team memorabilia, dancing shoes... the list goes on.

Among the many critters and creatures of Pink Cloud Gallery, you'll find both a Cat and Dog Judaica design. It comes in many varieties - clock, coaster, pill box, magnet. The clock pictured below is $39, and the tail wags too!

One of the greatest joys of Hanukkah is the insistence that you observe the holiday by indulging in foods cooked in oil. The modern day oil bounty is meant to signify the one-day supply of lamp oil that miraculously lasted for eight days in the Holy Temple after the Maccabean Revolt around 160 BC. Donuts will do the trick for that at Jolie's Sweet Creations. These are donut-croissant hybrids called kronies.

And finally, the chocolate shops in the park are the perfect place to pick up gifts for your host if you're attending a Hanukkah party. Here are some blue and Hanukkah themed chocolates at both Jacques Torres Chocolate and Max Brenner.
