Bryant Park Bids Farewell to the Lawn

"I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease, observing a spear of summer grass."
-Walt Whitman, Song of Myself

One of our most notable features here at the park is our emerald green lawn. Host to our most iconic and beloved events, it begins the summer in pristine condition, full of promise for the season to come. By the time autumn rolls around, the lawn has weathered summer showers, cushioned thousands of picnic blankets during the HBO Summer Film Fest, and been the setting for many summer lunches. The lawn served us well this 2013 season.

On Wednesday, October 16, the lawn was removed in preparation for the Bank of America Winter Village. Though we are sad to see the lawn go, we are grateful for the memories we made this summer, and are already looking forward to the lawn's return.

Thank you for a wonderful 2013 season!
