After Work Music with Warren Chiasson Trio

Bryant Park After Work
Music to start the end of your day.

Join the kickoff of Bryant Park After WorkIts the perfect outdoor setting for our schedule of New York area jazz musicians and singer-songwriters. Warren Chiasson Trio will deliver the first performance of the season, followed next week by Rebecca Haviland and Whiskey Heart.

Canadian born, Warren Chiasson has emerged as his own man and a jazz musician of the first rank. Honored as one of the six top vibraphonists of the last half century by the New York Times (November 11, 1989), he was for many years best known for his creative contributions to such musicians as George Shearing, Chet Baker, Tal Farlow and jazz diva Roberta Flack. He is now a soloist of international measure, the leader of his own group, and a critically acclaimed recording artist.

His style embraces both ends of the jazz continuum. From his days as a sideman for the understated Shearing, he has developed a technique that is subtle and melodic. But, he is more than able to come out swinging, and whatever the tempo or tune, Chiasson will play with invention, grace, and an appealing lack of pretension.
