Fitness in the Park

We live in a city where gym memberships can cost as much as a car payment, yoga classes are booked weeks in advance, and even a simple run in Central Park can feel as crowded as the subway during rush hour.  Keeping fit in the urban jungle can be a daunting task.  Luckily, Bryant Park is here to help.

Bryant Park, Midtown Manhattan’s backyard oasis, is proud to present its dynamic summer fitness classes.  Whether you’re looking to strengthen your mind-body connection, build up a sweat, or learn a new skill, we have something for everyone.  Best of all, classes and play are free, and equipment is provided—just show up!

Forget the stuffy yoga studio—strengthen your mind-body connection in the open air with Bryant Park Yoga sponsored by Athleta.  Back for its 10th year, our yoga series start date will be announced shortly.

Discover the ancient healing art of Tai Chi every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30am.  Reap the benefits of improved balance, coordination, and flexibility for the rest of your day.  Classes are held rain or shine and taught by members of the Tai Chi Chuan Center.

Whether during your lunch break or a long summer afternoon, drop in for Bryant Park Ping Pong, open every day from 11am to 7pm.  For more competitive play, register for our ping pong tournaments on the first Wednesday evening of each month.

If you’re looking for an adventurous way to sweat, join us for Bryant Park Fencing, held every Friday from 1-2pm.  Masters from the Manhattan Fencing Center will teach you to feint and parry, while you increase your heart rate.

Learn the joy of modern dance with Bryant Park Moves with Limon Dance, every Saturday from 10-11am.  Express yourself in the open air as you learn from internationally renowned instructors.

All of that and we still haven't even mentioned the positive health benefits from breathing in the fresh air, taking a mental mind space break from the office, and perhaps catching a free performance to help you relax. Check our the full schedule of events and happenings on our website.
