Bryant Park Petanque: On TV

Looking to entertain yourself in New York City without breaking the bank? NYC TV's $9.99 is the show for you. They scour the five boroughs for fun, free and inexpensive activities to fill your day with one criteria. Each neighborhood visit with activities and snacks must come in under $10.

When they aimed their sights on midtown, of course Bryant Park's calendar of free offerings made the agenda. Highlights from the episode include visits to Grand Central, the Church of Sweden, and Bryant Park Pétanque. Watch the full episode below, or fast forward to the 14:09 mark for the four minute highlight on our French game of boules.

Free pétanque lessons officially return to the park this Spring, but you never know. If the weather is warm enough, you're very likely to find members of our local club, La Boule New Yorkaise playing in the courts near 6th Avenue, always happy to teach a new pétanque fanatic.
